New PC Care Center provides retailers with valuable tools to support customers

Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system (OS) has presented some user education and complexity issues which can place additional demands on the retailers who sell the OS and new computers that have it pre-installed. The BlueRealm PC Care Center solution proactively supports the sale of new PC hardware, reduces support calls and returns, and provides transitional support as users move from older operating systems to Vista. With additional Vista-related content, such as how-to articles and video tutorials, the PC Care Center helps consumers more comfortably upgrade to Vista or purchase new Vista-powered PCs.

"We have made significant changes to the underlying BlueRealm technology in order to integrate the features and functions of our system with Vista," said Jim Hamlin, BlueRealm's Software Development Manager. "On the front end, we've redesigned our user interface to be consistent with the look and feel of Vista, including elements such as page layouts, navigation, and icon styles. We have also built new support content related specifically to Vista, so that users will the help and how-to information they need."

BlueRealm has also re-designed its back office system infrastructure in order to better support and reinforce Vista standards, such as those related to security features and manifests. The result is that users will experience seamless consistency between the BlueRealm application and the Vista OS.
